The Kousalya supraja shloka is taken from the Balkand of Ramayana. Guru Vishwamitra is telling his disciple Shri Ram that hey! Hey Divine Man! Wake up the son of Kaushalya. The sun is rising, so get up now and begin the holy work of saving the human race and the earth. O Shri Ram, wake up and start your day with Sandhya Vandan and pay your salutations to the gods.

कौसल्या सुप्रजाराम पूर्वा संध्याप्रवर्तते ।
उत्तिष्ठ नरशार्दूल कर्तव्यं देवमान्हिकम् ।।

Transliteration

kausalyā suprajārāma pūrvā saṁdhyāpravartate ।
uttiṣṭha naraśārdūla kartavyaṁ devamānhikam ।।

Transcription

kousalya supraja rama purva sandhyapravartate |
uttishtha narashardula kartavyam devamanhikam ||

Hindi Translation

हे कौशल्या माँ की प्रिय संतान, राम,
रात समाप्त हो रही है (भोर में), जागो,
सबसे महान प्राणी पुरुषोत्तम, आप अपनी,
ईश्वरीय स्थिति की दैनिक लीलाओं का पालन करें ,
और अपने सुबह की शुरुआत संध्यावंदन से करें।

English Translation

O dear child of mother Kaushalya, Ram,
the night is ending (at dawn), wake up,
Purushottama, the greatest of all beings,
start your day with Sandhya Vandan.
Start your Holy duties towards the well being of the Earth.
