Little Guru : An online educator of the traditional Indian Language – Sanskrit

Good News for all Sanskrit language lovers around the globe The Indian government has released the first-ever software that allows users to study Sanskrit, the country’s ancient language. Little Guru is the name of the app established by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and developed by Gamapp sportswizz a Bengaluru-based startup.

Little guru is a beautiful symbol of what we proposed to do in teaching to people across the world. This app will help students, teachers, monks…to be able to get an app that will help them learn easier at their own pace, whatever time they want. It helps you do better,” said Dinesh Patnaik, director general of ICCR.

“We realised something, we need something more modern, more up to date. Which works with technology, to bring this ancient language to the people…We decided to use modern-day tools like machine learning, AI, and gaming techniques. Gaming techniques help in bringing life to language,” he said.

Sankrit is often called the ‘language of the Gods’ and it is called Devabhasha in Indian culture. Sanskrit books and other materials are provided from the ICCR to help people learn the language. India’s Ministry of External Affairs oversees the ICCR. It also assigns professors and teachers to colleges and institutes. Now this app “Little Guru” will surely help all Sanskrit lovers to learn the ancient language.

The ICCR has received requests for Sanskrit learning assistance from both Indian diaspora and foreigners. Sanskrit is used in many Buddhist, Jain, and other religious texts. some countries had shown a strong desire for assistance in learning the language. Sanskrit is the foundation of many Indian languages, including Bengali, Tamil, and Marathi.
