Om Purnamadah Purnamidam Sanskirt Shloka with Hindi and English Meaning

Om Purnamadah Purnamidam Shloka

In Vedanta Sastra “Ada ha” (that) and ‘Idam’ (this) have very profound meanings. Adah corresponds to the Un-manifested Brahman who is always purnam (full with divine consciousness). Idam corresponds to the manifested universe that is visible to us. What this verse says is the link between un-manifested brahman and the Manifested Universe comes out of the Purnam, hence it is also Purnam. When it submerges inside the brahman again, what remains is again the un-manifested brahman which is always purnam. Om purnamadah purnamidam shloka is a reminder to the sadhaka that the entire universe is filled with Brahman (God) at all times.
