ओ प्रेममयी माता! आपके दोनो हाथों में सुख और दुःख है। आप कौन है? इस भौतिक विश्व में गरजती और उछलती हुई सागर की लहरे जैसी आप, टूटे हुए विश्व को पुनर्निर्मित करने का शांति पूर्ण प्रयास करती है।

वह देवी जो योग्य व्यक्ति को उसके कर्म का फल प्रदान करती है, और जो व्यक्ति अपने श्रेष्ठ कर्मों को उनके चरणों में रखता है, उसे अपने पास लेने वाली माँ भवानी मुझे आशीष दे। यह बात निश्चित है की, एक वो ही है जिनके हाथ में हमारे कर्मों की डोर है।

अर्थ : हे माँ। आप ही मेरे लिए शाश्वत आश्रय हो। आपके बिना धर्म, अधर्म, प्रारब्ध और कर्म का कोई अस्तित्व नहीं है। आपकी स्वतंत्र इच्छा, हमारे लिए तो सहज प्राकृतिक नियम के जैसी ही है।

अर्थ : माँ की अकल्प्य शक्ति से रचित, जन्म मृत्यु के जाल जैसे यह संसार नश्वर है, जो महान व्यक्तियों को भी भ्रमित कर देता है। तो फिर हे माँ, आपके सिवा और कौन मेरा आश्रय हो सकता है?

mṛtyucchāyā tava dayā tvamṛtañca mātaḥ mā māṃ muñcantu parame śubhadṛṣṭayaste ॥ 5॥
Hindi Translation
अर्थ : कमल जैसी आँखों में बहती हुई आपकी तेजस्वी कृपा, मित्र और शत्रु दोनों पर सामान बरसती है। आपके कारुण्य सभर स्पर्श का अनुभव आनंदी और दुःखी हर एक व्यक्ति कर रहा है। हे माँ ! यह भौतिक जीवन और मृत्यु आपकी की करुणा का एक भाग है। हे माँ ! हमे शुद्ध करने वाली आपकी कृपा, सदैव हम पर बनाये रखना।

अर्थ : वह प्रत्यक्ष माँ अंबा और उनका यह मूर्त स्वरुप, जिसके लिए मेरी छोटी बुद्धि से मैं प्रार्थना कर रहा हूँ, इन दोनों के बीच बहुत बड़ा अंतर है। जैसे की बच्चों जैसे मेरे छोटे हाथों से मैं सारे ब्रह्माण्ड के रचयिता को गले लगा रहा हूँ। उस शाश्वत माता का मैं आश्रय चाहता हूँ, जिनके चरण कमल का ध्यान माँ लक्ष्मी करती है, और जहाँ हमें सच्ची मुक्ति मिलती है।

अर्थ : अनंत दुःख एवं उनकी लीलाओं से भरे इस सुंदर रास्ते पर जो मुझे ले जा रही है, जिनकी दिव्य बुद्धि का प्रभाव विश्व में दिखाई दे रहा है, वह प्रेममयी माँ अंबा ही मेरा एक मात्र आश्रय हो, चाहे इस मार्ग में मुझे साफल्य मिले, या मेरे संघर्षों में वैफल्य।
